Why choose an Apprenticeship?
Registered apprenticeship is a highly flexible training model that has been in place for thousands of years. This model combines on-the-job training and related instruction in which paid employees (you), receive technical and practical training in highly skilled occupations. You EARN as you LEARN! Apprenticeship offers a proven methodology that allows employers to establish the standards of proficiency required of its professionals. The time requirements and substance of an apprenticeship training program depend on the occupation. Occupations include opportunities in healthcare, social services, building trades and hundreds of other occupations. Apprentices work and learn under the direction of qualified personnel who are experienced in their professional field. Over time, apprenticeships receive diverse and complex training that helps them become highly skilled in their chosen occupations. Upon completion, you receive a Certificate of Competency that is accepted within the industry nationwide and in many other countries. This Certificate of Competency clearly demonstrates one has mastered the skills of a chosen profession. Often, people with college degrees and education find it difficult to locate employment. On the other hand, people with working skills gained through apprenticeships have less difficulty finding well-paid employment. There will always be a demand for well-trained workers. Well-trained workers are "made" through apprenticeships. Apprentices trained through a registered apprenticeship program are even better trained than those trained through informal programs and tend to make more money! |
